HelloLoong (hereinafter referred to as "we", "us" or "this App") is a language learning app with privacy protection at its core, designed for individual users to use without registering an account. This policy explains how we handle your information based on the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and local privacy regulations.
HelloLoong is committed to minimizing data collection by not storing personally identifiable information such as name, email, phone number and precise location. During use, we only temporarily process the following technical data to achieve core functionality:
Purpose: Allows capturing objects in real scenes for language recognition.
Data processing: Images are only used for real-time recognition and are not saved to the device album or uploaded to the server.
Service provider: Google Gemini Vision API
Purpose: Identify objects in captured images.
Data Stream: Images are transmitted over an encrypted connection and are used only for a single pass.
Data Retention: Neither HelloLoong nor Google Gemini Vision retains image data nor uses it for model training.

Service Provider: Google's Text-to-Speech.
Purpose: Provides audio playback of vocabulary.
Data Stream: Audio is transmitted over an encrypted connection and is used only for a single pass.
Data Retention: HelloLoong does not retain speech data nor uses it for model training.
Personally identifiable information: name, email, phone number, address, etc.
Unique device identifier: IMEI;
Sensitive data: address book, calendar, SMS log;
Behavioral data: click history, usage duration, etc.;
Location data: precise or approximate geographic location.
EU and GDPR applicable regions: The legal basis for processing data is your explicit consent when granting system permissions (such as camera and voice).
California (CCPA): We do not "sell" or "share" your data; you have the right to request information, refuse future data sharing (although we will not do so), and request deletion of data (we do not store any data).
Chinese users: Personal information subject to localization or cross-border transfer restrictions is not collected.
Even if we do not store personal data, we still take industry-standard protection measures:
Third-party API requests use end-to-end encrypted connections;
No cookies, device fingerprints or analytics SDKs are used.
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:
Access: You can request confirmation of the data we are processing (since we do not store the data, no relevant information is available);
Right to correct/delete: The learning history and other data you create are controlled locally on the device and you can manage them yourself;
Right to withdraw consent: You can turn off the camera and microphone permissions at any time through the device settings
Complaint rights: You can contact your local data regulator or contact us (support@hellochineses.com) to resolve the problem.
HelloLoong is suitable for children aged 4 and above and is committed to not collecting any personal data (including child users). This app does not have login portals, advertising, behavior tracking and data analysis functions.
If parents/guardians find that their children have inadvertently shared personal information, please contact us at support@hellochineses.com and we will immediately investigate and delete the relevant data.
We may modify this policy due to functional adjustments, legal changes or regulatory requirements. Important updates will be notified through in-app notifications. Continuing to use this app after the update means that you accept the revised terms.
